Helping HV Businesses through COVID-19.

Hospitality businesses throughout the Hudson Valley have had to react to the COVID-19 pandemic in creative ways to maintain income. With mandatory closures of restaurants and bars, customers unable to be out and staff to worry about paying, it isn’t an easy task. Attorney Jessica Glass at Stenger, Glass, Hagstrom, Lindars & Iuele LLP has been busy working remotely with our client, Sloop Brewing Co. to help them maintain revenue sources despite their taproom being closed and reduced wholesale orders due to the closure of businesses they sell to.

In a matter of days, Jessica helped Sloop to set up a paid leave program for furloughed employees and pivot their distribution system from wholesale sales to direct retail deliveries of beer and food, including mail orders.  “Sloop is a long-time client and just a couple of weeks ago, we were celebrating their rapid growth into a number of other states. When the news of mandatory business closures broke, we had to react quickly in order to get Sloop to a place that would allow them to maintain strong sales despite the pandemic and protect their staff to ensure that they can bounce back quickly when this is all over,” says Jessica.
